Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS)
Updating the database of the Illinois Compiled Statutes (ILCS) is an ongoing process. Recent laws may not yet be included in the ILCS database, but they are found on this site as Public Acts soon after they become law. For information concerning the relationship between statutes and Public Acts, refer to the Guide.
Because the statute database is maintained primarily for legislative drafting purposes, statutory changes are sometimes included in the statute database before they take effect. If the source note at the end of a Section of the statutes includes a Public Act that has not yet taken effect, the version of the law that is currently in effect may have already been removed from the database and you should refer to that Public Act to see the changes made to the current law.
(70 ILCS 1830/32) (from Ch. 19, par. 532) Sec. 32. The Governor, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, shall appoint the members of the Board and fill any and all vacancies. If the Senate is in recess when such appointment is made, the Governor shall make a temporary appointment until the next meeting of the Senate. The terms of all of the members appointed by the Governor as of May 1, 2025, expire upon this amendatory Act of the 104th General Assembly taking effect, and each newly appointed member serves for 3-year terms. At the expiration of the term of any member, his successor shall be appointed by the Governor in like manner and with like regard to place of residence of the appointee.(Source: P.A. 104-454, eff. 12-12-25.) |
