| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Donald E. Nolan of Taylorville, who |
| 4 | | passed away on October 27, 2016; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Donald Nolan was born on October 23, 1931 in |
| 6 | | Taylorville; his parents were Edward J. and Elta G. Nolan; he |
| 7 | | married Mary R. Yonikus on November 22, 1958 at St. Mary's |
| 8 | | Church in Assumption; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Donald Nolan attended Bradley University before |
| 10 | | leaving to join the United States Air Force during the Korean |
| 11 | | Conflict; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Donald Nolan was a retired farmer and was |
| 13 | | passionate about agriculture; in 1979, he served as a wagon |
| 14 | | master for Illinois during the "tractorcade" to Washington D.C. |
| 15 | | for the American Agriculture Movement; he was an original board |
| 16 | | member for the Illinois Tractor Pulling Association and was |
| 17 | | well known for competing with his Minneapolis Moline G1000, |
| 18 | | named "Yellow Fever"; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Donald Nolan was a motorsports enthusiast and |
| 20 | | especially enjoyed racing his Triumph motorcycle in the 1950s |
| 21 | | and 1960s; he competed in the Springfield Mile and the Peoria |
