| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Peter J. "Pete" Militello, who passed |
| 4 | | away on December 5, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Peter Militello was born on April 26, 1923; he was |
| 6 | | a resident of Joliet for many years and graduated from Joliet |
| 7 | | Township High School in 1942; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Peter Militello served his country as a member of |
| 9 | | the United States Navy during World War II; he served on the |
| 10 | | USS Elden and the USS Chestatee as an Electrician's Mate 1st |
| 11 | | Class and was a recipient of the Purple Heart; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Peter Militello retired from Caterpillar after 31 |
| 13 | | years of dedicated service; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Peter Militello was a life-member of Stone City |
| 15 | | Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2199, the American Italian |
| 16 | | Cultural Society, the Caterpillar Retirees Club, and the Church |
| 17 | | of St. Anthony; and |
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Peter Militello was preceded in death by his wife, |
| 19 | | Marjorie (nee Sestak) Militello; his parents, Carl and |
| 20 | | Josephine Militello; and a sister, Rose (the late Edward) Lesh; |
