<reference>40 ILCS 5/7-109.3</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 108 1/2, par. 7-109.3</aliasreference><SynopsisText>Amends the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF) Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that certain firefighters who participate in IMRF may be granted Sheriff's Law Enforcement Employee (SLEP) status with the approval of the employing municipality. The approval resolution may specify that SLEP status shall be applied retroactively to employment occurring on or after January 1, 2011. <SynopsisText>Replaces everything after the enacting clause with provisions substantially similar to the original bill. Limits applicability to a municipality with at least 50 full-time firefighters that has not established a pension fund under Article 4 of the Code. Provides that the approval of the municipality shall be revocable only upon the establishment of an Article 4 fund by the municipality.
