Provides that the county board of each county may impose weight limits on vehicles to be operated upon a county highway. The county shall erect and maintain signs designating the weight limits at each end of that portion of the affected highway. The limits shall not apply to vehicles owned by a unit of local government, State government, or federal government. Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a county that elects to increase vehicle weight limits under the Illinois Highway Code is exempt from axle and total weight limits under the Illinois Vehicle Code.
