<synopsistitle></synopsistitle>
<reference>New Act</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Creates the Expressway Ramp Camera Placement Act. Creates the Expressway Ramp and Camera Placement Study. Requires the Illinois Department of Transportation to conduct a study on accidents involving motor vehicles driving the wrong direction onto expressway or freeway access ramps, and produce a report on its findings. Provides that the Department's report shall include the frequency of access ramp accidents; a listing of access ramps with the highest accident rates; and a recommendation for placement of access ramp cameras. Requires the Department to place cameras on access ramps, which in the Department's discretion, have the highest accident rates. The cameras shall record the scene with video and audio, and be accompanied by a sound or siren which shall warn on-coming traffic that a vehicle is driving in the wrong direction, and to proceed with caution. Defines the terms, "access ramp", "Department", and "expressway". Contains a repealer provision for the study. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
