<reference>305 ILCS 5/12-4.49 new</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that the Department of Human Services shall require all persons applying for cash benefits under the Code and, subject to federal approval, all persons applying for benefits under the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to answer the following question on their application for benefits: "Are you employed? Yes or no. If yes, please name your employer." Requires the Department to annually compile data on the employment information provided by all applicants in answer to this question and to annually submit a report on such data and employment information to the General Assembly. Grants the Department rulemaking authority.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Committee Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that beginning July 1, 2016, the Department shall annually compile data on the employment information provided by all applicants in their application for benefits under the federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or the medical assistance program under Article V of the Code and shall annually submit a report on such data and employment information to the General Assembly. Provides that the names of all applicants shall be kept confidential and shall not be disclosed in the annual reports submitted to the General Assembly.
