<reference>625 ILCS 5/6-305</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 6-305</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that a person renting a motor vehicle to another must provide a full tank of fuel or else the renter may not be charged for refueling the vehicle upon its return. Requires the renter and the person renting the vehicle, or their agent, to indicate the fuel level at the time of rental on the rental agreement. Provides that the rental agreement must include a notice that the renter may not be charged for refueling unless the vehicle had a full tank of gas at the time of the rental. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Committee Amendment No. 2</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Provides that if a renter rents a vehicle and returns that vehicle with less fuel than at the time of rental, the charge, if based upon fuel consumption, shall be the difference between the fuel level at the time of rental and the fuel level at the time of the vehicle's return, as estimated by the person or company renting the vehicle to the renter. Provides that the renter shall not receive a refund or credit if the vehicle is returned with more fuel than when the renter rented the vehicle. Provides that if a renter purchases the Fuel Service Option from the rental company, the renter's fuel charge shall be the per gallon charge multiplied by the fuel tank capacity of the vehicle rented. Provides that the renter shall not receive a refund or credit for any unused fuel under the Fuel Service Option. Requires that the rental agreement must contain a section outlining the fueling charge requirements for vehicle rentals. Defines "Fuel Service Option".</SynopsisText></synopsis>
