<reference>New Act</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Creates the Peace Officer Chokehold Prohibition Act. Provides that a peace officer may not apply a chokehold to effect the arrest of a person, unless faced with a situation in which the use of deadly force is justified under the Justifiable Use of Force; Exoneration Article of the Criminal Code of 2012. Provides that a peace officer who violates this provision is guilty of a Class A misdemeanor. Effective January 1, 2016.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
