<reference>105 ILCS 5/27A-5</reference><aliasreference></aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the Charter Schools Law of the School Code. Requires a charter school to comply with all (instead of all applicable) health and safety requirements applicable to public schools under the laws of this State. Provides that a charter school is not exempt from local school board health, safety, and wellness policies. Makes technical changes having a revisory function. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText><synopsistitle>House Committee Amendment No. 1</synopsistitle>
<SynopsisText>Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Charter Schools Law of the School Code. Requires a charter school to comply with all non-curricular (instead of all applicable) health and safety requirements applicable to public schools under State law; defines "non-curricular health and safety requirement". Provides that, on or before September 1, 2015, the State Board of Education shall promulgate and post on its Internet website a list of non-curricular health and safety requirements that a charter school must meet; requires the list to be updated annually. Provides that any charter contract between a charter school and its authorizer must contain a provision that requires the charter school to follow the list and any non-curricular health and safety requirements added by the State Board to such list during the term of the charter. Allows an authorizer to include non-curricular health and safety requirements in a charter school contract that are not contained in the list promulgated by the State Board, including non-curricular health and safety requirements of the authorizing school board. Makes technical changes. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
