<reference>25 ILCS 5/4</reference><aliasreference>from Ch. 63, par. 4</aliasreference><SynopsisText>     Amends the General Assembly Organization Act. Provides that the chairman, or any member of any committee appointed by the two houses of the General Assembly, shall (currently, may) administer oaths and affirmations to witnesses called before such committee for the purpose of giving evidence touching any matter or thing which may be under the consideration or investigation of such committee. Provides that such witnesses shall bind themselves under the penalties for perjury as provided in the Code of Civil Procedure. Effective immediately.</SynopsisText></synopsis>
