SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Kenneth J. "Ken" Thompson of Grayslake, 
4who passed away on October 27, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Kenneth Thompson was born on April 22, 1947 in 
6Waukegan; his parents were Jack and Lois Thompson; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Kenneth Thompson served his country as a member of 
8the United States Army during the Vietnam War; he was a 
9recipient of a Purple Heart; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Kenneth Thompson retired from Abbott Laboratories 
11after many years of service; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Kenneth Thompson was an avid fisherman; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Kenneth Thompson was preceded in death by his 
14parents; and
 
15    WHEREAS, Kenneth Thompson is survived by his high school 
16sweetheart and wife of 44 years, Diana; 3 children, Jennifer 
17Moreno, Melissa Thompson, and Douglas Thompson; a grandson, 
18Gabriel Moreno; and 2 sisters, Jackie (Richard) Zimmerman and 
19Karen (Dexter) Miller; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
3family and friends, mourn the passing of Kenneth J. "Ken" 
4Thompson; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Kenneth Thompson as an expression of 
7our sympathy.
