| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of William Andrew Gardner, Jr. of Buffalo |
| 4 | | Grove; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, William Gardner, Jr. was a member of the American |
| 6 | | Legion Merle Guild Post 208 in Arlington Heights and the First |
| 7 | | United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights; he was a member |
| 8 | | of Pipefitters Local Union 597 and an active volunteer at |
| 9 | | Maryville Academy; he also founded 16-inch softball leagues in |
| 10 | | the Northwest suburbs, including the Arlington Greens; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, William Gardner, Jr. served his country as a |
| 12 | | member of the United States Army's 88th Infantry Division |
| 13 | | during the occupation of Europe following World War II; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, William Gardner, Jr. was preceded in death by 2 |
| 15 | | sisters; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, William Gardner, Jr. was the beloved husband of |
| 17 | | the late Marilyn Gardner; the loving father of Dianne (James) |
| 18 | | Renn, John (Gayle) Gardner, Thomas Gardner, and the late Dale |
| 19 | | (Eileen) Gardner; the devoted grandfather of Meghan (Clifford) |
| 20 | | Snatchko, Meredith Gletty, William Andrew Gardner, III, Lauren |
| 21 | | Gletty, and Cash Gardner; and the great-grandfather of John |
