SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Mary Lorraine Boehmer of Woodstock, who passed away on September 30, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer was born in Mobile, Alabama on August 1, 1928 to Joseph Ross and Claudine (nee Joseph) Ollis; she married Arthur William Boehmer in February of 1953 and their life in the United States Navy, followed by United Airlines, was pivotal to her love of seeing new destinations; and

WHEREAS, While living in Palatine, Mary Boehmer was very active in Travelers Aid Chicago at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport; she traveled to many worldwide destinations, such as Russia, Egypt, and Ireland; she took 38 cruises to many regions of the world, with Paris being her fondest destination; and

WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer was active in local organizations such as The Bull Valley Garden Club, the Woodstock Fine Arts Association, the Investment Club, as well as many others; she had a wonderful gift of entertaining, even though she had a strong aversion to cooking and with her Southern charm and graciousness, she was always the life of the party and conversation; and

WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer was preceded in death by her parents; and

WHEREAS, Mary Boehmer is survived by her husband of 62 years, Arthur; 3 children, William Ross (Susan) Boehmer, Tracy (Ron) Kieras, and Stephanie (Thomas) Paulsen; and 5 grandchildren, Erik, Michael, Kelly, Lindsay, and Rob; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of Mary Lorraine Boehmer, and extend our sincere condolences to her family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Mary Boehmer as an expression of our deepest sympathy.
