SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Harry Jasper of Harvard, who passed away 
4on September 20, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Harry Jasper Jasper was born in Leeuwarden, 
6Netherlands on November 22, 1925; he married June Stellema on 
7June 28, 1949 in Leeuwarden; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Harry Jasper worked for the Dutch border patrol 
9before immigrating to Harvard in 1954; he worked as a tool and 
10die maker for 29 years at Woodstock Die Casting, where he was a 
11union steward; he retired in 1987; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Harry Jasper enjoyed traveling and spending time 
13with his family; he was affectionately known as "Opa" to his 
14grandchildren and great-grandchildren; he was a member of the 
15First United Methodist Church in Harvard for 60 years and a 
16member of the Moose Lodge for over 50 years; and
  
 
  
17    WHEREAS, Harry Jasper is survived by his devoted wife of 65 
18years, June; son, Rudy (Andrea) Jasper; daughter, Kitty (Ken) 
19Powers; 3 grandsons; 4 great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law, 
20Fred Stellema; a niece; a nephew; and many relatives in the 
21Netherlands; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Harry Jasper, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
4friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to  the family of  Harry Jasper as an expression of our 
7deepest sympathy.
