| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Ruth Elizabeth Roach of McHenry, who |
| 4 | | passed away on September 29, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Roach was born in Chicago on February 29, |
| 6 | | 1924 to Chester and Marie (nee Watts) Clow; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Roach began her career in Chicago working for |
| 8 | | Commonwealth Edison; after moving to McHenry, she was employed |
| 9 | | as a chemical analyst by Morton Chemical in Woodstock; she |
| 10 | | continued with the company as it transitioned to |
| 11 | | Morton-Thiokol, Inc. and then to the Rohm and Haas Company; |
| 12 | | later, she worked in food service at Montini Catholic School in |
| 13 | | McHenry; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Roach was a member of St. Patrick Catholic |
| 15 | | Church in McHenry, where she was a member of the Ladies Guild |
| 16 | | and volunteered in the soup kitchen; she also volunteered with |
| 17 | | 1st Way Pregnancy Support Services and the Friends in Service |
| 18 | | Here Food Pantry; and
|
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Ruth Roach was preceded in death by her husband, |
| 20 | | James Roach; a granddaughter, Kyrstin Roach; a sister, |
| 21 | | Catherine; and a brother, John; and
