SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Nicholas M. Helland of Hebron, who passed 
4away on September 16, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Nicholas Helland was born on August 21, 1990 in 
6Barrington; his parents were Jeff and Penelope (nee Gasiamis) 
7Helland; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Nicholas Helland graduated from Alden-Hebron High 
9School in 2008 and was active in football, basketball, and 
10baseball; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, After graduation, Nicholas Helland joined the 
12United States Marine Corps, spending 4 years in service with a 
13tour in Afghanistan; and
 
14    WHEREAS, Nicholas Helland worked as a construction worker 
15in remodeling/building homes; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Nicholas Helland was preceded in death by his 
17mother and his grandparents; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Nicholas Helland is survived by his father, Jeff; 
193 sisters, Tracy (Greg) Vander Mey, Samantha Helland, and

1Nicole (Tim) Guasta; 4 brothers, Jason Helland, Troy Helland, 
2Trevor Helland, and Stephen (Colleen Mayer) Taylor; and 6 
3nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
4    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
5ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
6family and friends, mourn the passing of Nicholas M. Helland; 
7and be it further
  
 
8    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
9presented to the family of Nicholas Helland as an expression of 
10our sympathy.
