| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Betty R. Farley, who passed away on |
| 4 | | September 15, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Betty Farley was born on July 20, 1919 in Alton; |
| 6 | | her parents were Fred A. and Sadie (nee Poore) Redmond; she |
| 7 | | married N. Rogers Farley, Jr. on December 27, 1939 in Alton; |
| 8 | | and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Betty Farley was the oldest living graduate of |
| 10 | | Marquette High School; she was also a member of the Upper Alton |
| 11 | | Woman's Club for over 50 years, a member of the Illinois State |
| 12 | | Chapter of P.E.O., and an avid bridge player; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Betty Farley was employed in the jewelry |
| 14 | | department at Famous Barr for 10 years; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Betty Farley was preceded in death by her husband; |
| 16 | | a son, N. Rogers Farley, III; a brother, Jack Redmond; and a |
| 17 | | sister-in-law, Sylvia Thomas; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Betty Farley is survived by 4 daughters, Mary |
| 19 | | (Tom) Hoechst, Sarah Woodman, Georgia Farley, and Chris |
| 20 | | (Dennis) Jones; 9 grandchildren, Beth Hoechst, Christopher |
