SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Gerald "Jerry" Goode of Gurnee, who 
4passed away on June 16, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Gerald Goode was born on March 30, 1929 in 
6Waukegan; his parents were Walter and Mary (nee Hoff) Goode; he 
7married the love of his life, Mary Kristan, on August 19, 1950; 
8and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Gerald Goode served his country as a member of the 
10United States Army Corps of Engineers during the Korean War; 
11and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Gerald Goode was an usher at St. Patrick Church in 
13Wadsworth for over 45 years; he was also a member of the Moose 
14Lodge; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Gerald Goode was preceded in death by 2 brothers, 
16Walter (Sonny) Goode and Bruce Goode, and a sister, Agnes 
17"Elaine" (nee Goode) Greene; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Gerald Goode is survived by his wife of 63 years, 
19Mary; 5 children, Mary Lynn (Chuck) Walters, Tim (Sue) Goode, 
20Jerry Goode, JoAnn Smoker, and Dr. Mark Goode; 13

1grandchildren, Robert (Melissa) Walters, Mark Walters, Matt 
2Goode, Kayla Goode, Breanna Goode, Jenna Goode, Brian Goode, 
3Collin Goode, Emily Smoker, Beth Smoker, Grant Goode, Julia 
4Goode, and Catherine Goode; 2 great-granddaughters, Moriah and 
5Lila Walters; and his respected friend, Bill Hielscher; 
6therefore, be it
  
 
7    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
8ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
9family and friends, mourn the passing of Gerald "Jerry" Goode; 
10and be it further
  
 
11    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
12presented to the family of Gerald Goode as an expression of our 
13sympathy.
