SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Elisabeth "Lisa" D. Kelly of Woodstock, 
4who passed away on June 7, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly was born on February 22, 1945 in 
6Cleveland, Ohio; her parents were Arthur L. and Lina A. (nee 
7Greene) Dougan; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly grew up in the Cleveland area and 
9graduated from Laurel School; she went on to attend 
10Northwestern University and graduated with a degree in 
11philosophy; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly was an active member at St. Ann's 
13Episcopal Church in Woodstock and served on many boards, 
14including the Vestry as a Junior and Senior Warden; she was 
15also a member of the Woodstock Rotary and served as President 
16of the Woodstock Chamber of Commerce; and
 
17    WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly was employed as a journalist for 
18both the Northwest Herald and Woodstock Independent; she also 
19worked as a substitute teacher for District 200; and
  
 
20    WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly was preceded in death by her

1parents and a brother, Tom Dougan; and
  
 
2    WHEREAS, Elisabeth Kelly is survived by 2 sons, Spencer 
3(Yukari) Kelly and Brian (Christa) Kelly, and a sister, Pat 
4Dougan (Hugh) Neilson; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her 
7family and friends, mourn the passing of Elisabeth "Lisa" D. 
8Kelly; and be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Elisabeth Kelly as an expression of 
11our sympathy.
