SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Timothy A. Murphy, Sr. of Marengo, who 
4passed away on June 2, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Timothy Murphy, Sr. was born on March 16, 1947 in 
6Chicago; his parents were Benard and Alice (nee Connors) 
7Murphy; he married Gwendolyn Faye McKendrick on November 15, 
81965; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Timothy Murphy, Sr. was a member of the Knights of 
10Columbus and Sacred Heart Council 13476; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Timothy Murphy, Sr. enjoyed fishing, hunting, and 
12fixing anything he could; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Timothy Murphy, Sr. was preceded in death by his 
14son, Timothy Murphy, Jr.; his parents; and 5 siblings, Benard 
15Murphy, Jr., Margaret Scott, Joseph F. Murphy, Betty Uselton, 
16and John Murphy; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Timothy Murphy, Sr. is survived by his wife, Gwen; 
183 children, Elizabeth (Kenneth) McCorkle, Alice (Wade) 
19Petriak, and Charles (Maria) Murphy; 7 grandchildren; and 
20several nieces and nephews; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
3family and friends, mourn the passing of Timothy A. Murphy, 
4Sr.; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Timothy Murphy, Sr. as an expression 
7of our sympathy.
