SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Bernadine J. Fitzgerald of Mahomet, 
4formerly of Champaign-Urbana, who passed away on May 27, 2014; 
5and
  
 
6    WHEREAS, Bernadine Fitzgerald was born on March 27, 1924 in 
7Kewanee; she married Jim Fitzgerald in 1947; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Bernadine Fitzgerald graduated from the 
9University of Iowa, where she became an Alpha Chi and one of 
10the first female cheerleaders for the Hawkeyes; and

  
 
11    WHEREAS, Bernadine Fitzgerald was a homemaker; she was also 
12involved with the local chapters of PEO and Alpha Chi and 
13worked for many other charitable volunteer groups; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Bernadine Fitzgerald is survived by her husband, 
15Jim Fitzgerald; 4 children, Laurel Ellis (Dan), Kevin 
16Fitzgerald (Pat), Mary Fitzgerald, and Patrick Fitzgerald 
17(Susan); 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren; 
18therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her

1family and friends, mourn the passing of Bernadine J. 
2Fitzgerald; and be it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the family of Bernadine Fitzgerald as an
