| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Steven W. Shaw of Woodstock, who passed |
| 4 | | away on May 16, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Steven Shaw was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October |
| 6 | | 14, 1938 to Willard Lee and Thelma Marie (nee Wolfe) Shaw; he |
| 7 | | attended school in Malvern, Iowa and graduated from Malvern |
| 8 | | High School in 1956; he attended the University of Iowa, the |
| 9 | | University of Kansas City, and Morningside College in Sioux |
| 10 | | City, Iowa; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Steven Shaw began working for Younkers in 1959, |
| 12 | | where he served in various capacities in Omaha, Nebraska, Sioux |
| 13 | | City, Iowa, and Des Moines, Iowa, including as Divisional |
| 14 | | Vice-President in Des Moines; he also was past-President of the |
| 15 | | Younkers 20 year club in Des Moines; he retired from Younkers |
| 16 | | and joined Iowa Realty in the Des Moines area as a residential |
| 17 | | real estate agent in 1995; in 2000, he joined H&R Block as a |
| 18 | | seasonal tax professional, working for several years until |
| 19 | | moving to Woodstock in 2011; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, While residing in Sioux City, Iowa, Steven Shaw |
| 21 | | was a member of the Iowa National Guard and the Sioux City |
| 22 | | Junior Chamber of Commerce, where he served a term as |
