SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Lawrence Edward Weller of Palmyra, who 
4passed away on May 20, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lawrence Weller was born in Palmyra on October 20, 
61935 to Ralph and Irene (nee Thompson) Weller; he graduated 
7from Northwestern High School and served in the United States 
8Army Reserve; he married Lucille Wyzard on December 24, 1958 in 
9Palmyra; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Lawrence Weller was a life-long farmer and enjoyed 
11raising cattle, hunting, and trapshooting; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Lawrence Weller was a member of the First Baptist 
13Church in Palmyra; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Lawrence Weller was preceded in death by his 
15parents; one sister, Mary Jane Weller; a sister-in-law, Alice 
16Stults; and 2 brothers-in-law, Dean Stults and Harvey Lorton; 
17and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Lawrence Weller is survived by his wife, Lucille; 
193 daughters, Linda (John) Ambrose, Deanna (Kent) Humphrey, and 
20Susie (Jim) Gracey; one son, Wayne (Shanda) Weller; 7

1grandchildren, Valerie (Kevin) Simpson, Lindsey Heigert, 
2Cassey Gracey, Corey Gracey, Jamie Straub, Katie Weller, and 
3Jason Weller; a great-grandson, K.J. Simpson; 2 
4step-great-grandchildren, Samantha Simpson and Tyler Simpson; 
53 sisters, Thelma (Ralph) Wohlers, Lavina Lorton, and Frieda 
6Ayers; one brother, Coy (Mary Lou) Weller; and several nieces 
7and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
8    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
9ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
10Lawrence Edward Weller, and extend our sincere condolences to 
11his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
12further
  
 
13    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
14presented to the family of Lawrence Weller as an expression of 
15our deepest sympathy.
