| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Henry "Hank" Tonigan, II of Waukegan, who |
| 4 | | passed away on April 1, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan was born on April 2, 1925 in |
| 6 | | Waukegan to Henry and Wilma Tonigan; he was an Eagle Scout and |
| 7 | | a life-long supporter of the Boys Scouts of America; he served |
| 8 | | in the United States Navy during World War II as a weatherman |
| 9 | | on the USS Intrepid; he married Jean Schroeder in Rantoul in |
| 10 | | June of 1947; after his service, he graduated from the |
| 11 | | University of Illinois with a Master's of Education and from |
| 12 | | Northwestern University with a Master's of Business |
| 13 | | Administration; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan worked as a plant manager for US |
| 15 | | Steel and Ozite Manufacturing; he was a proud owner of Profile |
| 16 | | Publications and Red Line Litho in Crystal Lake, for which he |
| 17 | | received numerous Chamber of Commerce awards; and
|
| 18 | | WHEREAS, Henry Tonigan was an avid nature enthusiast, |
| 19 | | golfer, and a 32nd degree Mason with the Rising Son Lodge; he |
| 20 | | was past-President of 2 Lutheran Congressional Churches in |
| 21 | | Waukegan and Barrington; and
