| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Ernest P. Massimo of Waukegan, who passed |
| 4 | | away on March 2, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Ernest Massimo was born in the state of |
| 6 | | Pennsylvania on March 19, 1916; he served during World War II |
| 7 | | with the 3rd Army division and was part of the D-Day invasion |
| 8 | | and the Battle of the Bulge; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Ernest Massimo worked in the coal mines in |
| 10 | | Pennsylvania; he retired as a construction engineer for the |
| 11 | | Curran Company in Lake County and belonged to Union Local #150; |
| 12 | | he was past-post commander of both the Waukegan Veterans of |
| 13 | | Foreign Wars and the Waukegan American Legion; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Ernest Massimo enjoyed bowling, was considered an |
| 15 | | excellent cook, and took pride in teaching others how to cook; |
| 16 | | and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Ernest Massimo was preceded in death by his wife |
| 18 | | of 37 years, Neva; son, Joseph Massimo; brothers, Albert |
| 19 | | Primavera, Dominic Massimo, and Nello Massimo; and sister, Mae |
| 20 | | Burneff; and
