| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Eugene Anthony "Chuck" Turowski of |
| 4 | | Gurnee, who passed away on April 14, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski was born and raised in North |
| 6 | | Chicago and graduated from Northern Illinois University; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski worked for Abbott Laboratories |
| 8 | | for over 33 years; he was an accomplished scientist in |
| 9 | | diagnostics and process development divisions; he was |
| 10 | | instrumental in the development of the first AIDS test, saving |
| 11 | | thousands of lives; he worked with dozens of infectious |
| 12 | | diseases and helped save Abbott millions of dollars with the |
| 13 | | processes he put into place; and
|
| 14 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski was preceded in death by his |
| 15 | | father, Eugene, Sr.; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski leaves behind his loving wife, |
| 17 | | Katheleen (nee Summerville); daughter, Caitlin; step-son, Russ |
| 18 | | (Kim) Sherlock; grandson, Daniel Sherlock; adoring mother, |
| 19 | | Dolores; and sisters, Eileen Taylor and Diana; therefore, be it
