SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Eugene Anthony "Chuck" Turowski of 
4Gurnee, who  passed away on April 14, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski was born and raised in North 
6Chicago and graduated from Northern Illinois University; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski worked for Abbott Laboratories 
8for over 33 years; he was an accomplished scientist in 
9diagnostics and process development divisions; he was 
10instrumental in the development of the first AIDS test, saving 
11thousands of lives; he worked with dozens of infectious 
12diseases and helped save Abbott millions of dollars with the 
13processes he put into place; and
  
 
  
14    WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski was preceded in death by his 
15father, Eugene, Sr.; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Eugene Turowski leaves behind his loving wife, 
17Katheleen (nee Summerville); daughter, Caitlin; step-son, Russ 
18(Kim) Sherlock; grandson, Daniel Sherlock; adoring mother, 
19Dolores; and sisters, Eileen Taylor and Diana; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
2Eugene Anthony "Chuck" Turowski, and extend our sincere 
3condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved 
4him; and be it further
  
 
5    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
6presented to the family of Eugene Turowski as an expression of 
7our deepest sympathy.
