|
| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Robert S. Krockey of Shorewood, who |
| 4 | | passed away on March 29, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Krockey was born on December 6, 1940 in |
| 6 | | Chicago; his parents were Sol and Miriam Krockey; and
|
| 7 | | WHEREAS, Robert Krockey was a proud Roosevelt Rough Rider, |
| 8 | | graduating with the Class of June 1958; he earned his Bachelor |
| 9 | | of Arts in Accounting from the University of Illinois in 1962 |
| 10 | | and his Certified Public Accountant designation in 1965; he |
| 11 | | subsequently graduated from the DePaul University School of Law |
| 12 | | and became a member of the Illinois Bar in 1966; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Robert Krockey practiced law in Joliet from 1967 |
| 14 | | to 2014; he was senior partner of the law firm Krockey, |
| 15 | | Cernugel, Cowgill, and Clark; he also served on numerous bar |
| 16 | | association committees; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Robert Krockey was a board member and President of |
| 18 | | the Will County Legal Assistance Program for many years, |
| 19 | | devoting many hours of legal aid for the poor; he served as |
| 20 | | President of the Will County Sheltered Workshop and United |
| 21 | | Cerebral Palsy, where he was recipient of the Mel Larson Award; |

| 1 | | he was also a member of the Joliet Jewish Congregation, serving |
| 2 | | as Vice President at the time of his passing, and a proud |
| 3 | | amateur musician with the Southwest Community Band, the Joliet |
| 4 | | Junior College Band, and the Bicentennial Park Band; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Robert Krockey was a devoted University of |
| 6 | | Illinois alumnus and an avid Chicago Bears, Cubs, White Sox, |
| 7 | | Blackhawks, and Bulls fan; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Robert Krockey was preceded in death by his |
| 9 | | parents; and
|
| 10 | | WHEREAS, Robert Krockey is survived by his wife of 45 |
| 11 | | years, Judith (nee Berlinsky) Krockey; son, Brian Krockey and |
| 12 | | his wife, Lisa (nee Carmignani) Krockey; son, Joshua Krockey; |
| 13 | | daughter, Stephanie (nee Krockey) Thompson and her husband, |
| 14 | | John Thompson; grandchildren, Natalie, Isabella, Aaron, and |
| 15 | | Noelle Krockey; and many cousins; therefore, be it

| 16 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
| 17 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his |
| 18 | | family and friends, mourn the passing of Robert S. Krockey; and |
| 19 | | be it further

| 20 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
