| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Eugene G. Moore of Morton, who passed |
| 4 | | away on April 6, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Moore was born on November 7, 1925 in |
| 6 | | Peoria; his parents were George and Julia (nee Tjaden) Moore; |
| 7 | | he married Dorothy Long, who preceded him in death; he later |
| 8 | | married Ruth Harper, who preceded him in death; and
|
| 9 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Moore served his country as a member of the |
| 10 | | United States Navy during World War II, serving as signalman |
| 11 | | aboard the USS LaGrange; and
|
| 12 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Moore was a business agent for the Painters |
| 13 | | Local 157; he later worked as a director of building trades in |
| 14 | | Peoria; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Moore was a co-founder of the Thomas |
| 16 | | Jefferson Educational Foundation, Inc.; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Moore was preceded in death by one brother |
| 18 | | and one sister; and |
| 19 | | WHEREAS, Eugene Moore is survived by 6 children, Thomas |
