| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Lois M. DeWane of Woodstock, who passed |
| 4 | | away on February 16, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Lois DeWane was born in Sugar Grove and raised on |
| 6 | | the family farm; her parents were Elmer and Marion Myers; after |
| 7 | | the death of her father, she, her mother, and her sister moved |
| 8 | | to Belvidere to be with her brother, Everett; while in |
| 9 | | Belvidere, she met her future husband, Emmet J. DeWane, and |
| 10 | | they were married on June 9, 1951; after marrying, they settled |
| 11 | | in Woodstock, where they raised their family and would remain |
| 12 | | for the rest of their lives; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Lois DeWane was a beautician and later a stay at |
| 14 | | home mother for many years; she also worked at Woodstock |
| 15 | | Memorial Hospital for 15 years until her retirement; and
|
| 16 | | WHEREAS, Lois DeWane was preceded in death by her husband, |
| 17 | | Emmet; her parents; her siblings, Everett (Vera) Myers, Darwin |
| 18 | | Myers, and Dorothy (Edward) Young; and her brother and sister |
| 19 | | in-laws, Leo and Dorothy DeWane, Bernard and Arlene DeWane, |
| 20 | | Donald and Ann DeWane, JoAnn DeWane, and Gen (Russ) Osmun; and
|
| 21 | | WHEREAS, Lois DeWane is survived by her children, Gary |
