| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Elijah Maxey, who passed away on February |
| 4 | | 23, 2014; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Elijah Maxey was born on December 10, 1948 in |
| 6 | | Shreveport, Louisiana; he attended DuSable High School in |
| 7 | | Chicago; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Elijah Maxey worked as a journeyman electrician |
| 9 | | through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers |
| 10 | | Local 134 from 1969 through 2010; and
|
| 11 | | WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Egypt", Elijah Maxey was |
| 12 | | a surrogate father to many of his sons' friends; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Elijah Maxey was the father of 3 sons, Elijah, |
| 14 | | Jr., Jeffrey, and Jermaine; therefore, be it
|
| 15 | | RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL |
| 16 | | ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of |
| 17 | | Elijah Maxey, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, |
| 18 | | friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
|
| 19 | | RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be |
