SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Elijah Maxey, who passed away on February 
423, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Elijah Maxey was born on December 10, 1948 in 
6Shreveport, Louisiana; he attended DuSable High School in 
7Chicago; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Elijah Maxey worked as a journeyman electrician 
9through the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 
10Local 134 from 1969 through 2010; and
  
 
  
11    WHEREAS, Affectionately known as "Egypt", Elijah Maxey was 
12a surrogate father to many of his sons' friends; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Elijah Maxey was the father of 3 sons, Elijah, 
14Jr., Jeffrey, and Jermaine; therefore, be it
  
 
15    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
16ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
17Elijah Maxey, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
18friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
19    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
