SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  James R. Dolan, Sr.; and
  
 
4    WHEREAS, James Dolan, Sr. graduated from St. Leo High 
5School in 1949; he was a founding and lifetime member of 
6Boneheads S.A.C.; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, James Dolan, Sr. served his country as a member of 
8the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, James Dolan, Sr. was employed with the Chicago 
10Police Department from 1958 to 1992; and

  
 
11    WHEREAS, James Dolan, Sr. was the beloved husband of Helen 
12(nee Kolegas) for 58 years; the proud father of Jeanne (Mark) 
13Grohovena, Jim Jr. (Anne), Janet (Dolly), Martin, Mary (Dave) 
14Howicz, and Christine Atkins; the cherished grandfather of 
15James III (Lauren) Dolan, Emily (Brian) Whalen, Andrew, 
16Nicholas, and Sean Dolan, Garret and Elena Howicz, and John 
17Robert Atkins; the great-grandfather of Eleanor, James Robert 
18Dolan IV, and Luke Whalen; the dear brother of Peggy (Phil) 
19Graham, Maureen (Mike) Lavin, Martin (Kim) Dolan, Michael 
20(Kathleen) Dolan, Nancy Dolan and the late Mary Jeanne (Jim) 
21Salach; and the devoted uncle of 40 nieces and nephews;

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
4family and friends, mourn the passing of James R. Dolan, Sr.; 
5and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of James Dolan, Sr. as an expression of 
8our sympathy.
