SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Edward "Ed" Meyer, who passed away on 
4February 12, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Edward Meyer was born on May 16, 1958 in Alton; 
6his parents were William Meyer and Darlene (nee Dewanz) Meyer; 
7he married Monica Thomeczek on July 26, 2005; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Edward Meyer was employed as a captain with 
9American Commercial Barge Line for 16 years; after his 
10retirement, he became the owner and operator of Clay East 
11Supply, Inc. in Godfrey; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Edward Meyer was preceded in death by his mother; 
13and

  
 
14    WHEREAS, Edward Meyer is survived by his wife, Monica; his 
15father; and his brother, William Aring Meyer; therefore, be it
  
 
16    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
17ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
18family and friends, mourn the passing of Edward "Ed" Meyer; and 
19be it further
