SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Matthew J. Scholle of Antioch, who passed away on January 29, 2014; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Scholle was born on July 25, 1937 in Chicago; his parents were John "Jack" and Genevieve (nee Czajkowski) Scholle; he married Carol (nee Sompel) Scholle on May 18, 1974 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Scholle was a devout Catholic for his entire life; he was a former longtime member of the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Johnsburg and served on the Endowment Society Board and the Winner's Circle; he was most recently a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Spring Grove; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Scholle was a member of the committee for the Relay for Life in Antioch and the Woodland Ridge Townhome Association board in Antioch; he was also a member of the Worthmoor Association; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Scholle was employed as a Sales Manager for Nestle USA; he was also an employee of Hills Bros. and served briefly in the military reserves; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Scholle was preceded in death by his first wife, Rita (nee Merk) Scholle; his parents; and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nancy (Jess) Inman; and

WHEREAS, Matthew Scholle is survived by his loving wife, Carol; his 3 aunts; his uncle; his many cousins; his brothers-in-law, Dan and Rick (Debbie) Sompel; his sisters-in-law, Betty Sompel and Louise (the late Edward) Flood; his 3 nephews; his niece; his great-niece; and his great-nephew; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Matthew J. Scholle; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Matthew Scholle as an expression of our sympathy.
