SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  John L. Hoague of Herrin, who passed away 
4on January 18, 2014; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, John Hoague was born on March 2, 1935 in Chicago; 
6his parents were Lewis D. and Leora (nee Merril) Hoague; he 
7married LaDonne Edwards on September 1, 1956 in Beaucoup; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, John Hoague was employed as a land acquisition 
9officer for the Illinois Department of Transportation for many 
10years until his retirement in 1990; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, John Hoague served as state president of the 
12Illinois Elks Association; he was also a past Exalted Ruler for 
13Herrin Elks Lodge 1146; and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, John Hoague was preceded in death by his parents; 
15his wife, LaDonne; and his brothers-in-law, James Edwards, Bill 
16Edwards, and William Papa; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, John Hoague is survived by his sons and 
18daughter-in-law, Scott and Elaine Hoague, Douglas Hoague, and 
19David Hoague; his daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Doug 
20Burris; his grandchildren, Lindsay and Justin Fortner, Natalie

1Burris, and Fletcher Hoague; his great-grandchild, Brynlee 
2Fortner; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and 
3Don Gutmann, Pat Papa, and Leeann and Victor Main; and his many 
4nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
7family and friends, mourn the passing of John L. Hoague; and be 
8it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of John Hoague as an expression of our 
11sympathy.
