SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Anton Scharko of Woodstock, who passed 
4away on December 21, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Anton Scharko was born on August 8, 1919 in 
6Perekale, Ukraine to Adam and Mary (nee Babiejczyk) Scharko; he 
7married Mary Tatzer in Leutschach, Austria in February of 1947; 
8they settled in Woodstock in 1953; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Anton Scharko worked for Woodstock Auto-Lite from 
101953 until his retirement in 1984; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Anton Scharko was a longtime member of St. Mary 
12Catholic Church in Woodstock; he enjoyed maintaining his 
13vegetable garden, collecting and restoring antiques, and 
14entertaining visitors to his home; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Anton Scharko was preceded in death by his 
16parents, and by his wife of 57 years, Mary; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Anton Scharko is survived by his daughters, Maria 
18(Art) Santos and Jane (Brian) Palmer; his grandchildren, Thomas 
19Mathews, Anthony (Ashley) Mathews, Katie Mathews, and Kelly 
20Mathews; and his great-grandchild, Wyatt Mathews; therefore,

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Anton Scharko, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Anton Scharko as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
