SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Don Anthony "D.A." Joiner of Carlinville, 
4who passed away on November 28, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Don Joiner was born on December 18, 1948 in 
6Springfield; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Don Joiner served his country as a member of the 
8United States Army's 1st Battalion, 26th Infantry Regiment of 
9the 1st Infantry Division, known as the Blue Spaders, from 1967 
10to 1968; he was awarded a Bronze Star with a "V" device, an Air 
11Medal, and 3 Purple Hearts for his meritorious service; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Don Joiner was the owner and operator of Joiner 
13Plumbing and Heating in the Carlinville and Virden areas for 
14many years; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Don Joiner was demolition derby driver number 7-11 
16for many years; he also enjoyed hunting and watching NASCAR and 
17Young and the Restless; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Don Joiner was preceded in death by his mother, 
19Betty Joiner; and

1    WHEREAS, Don Joiner is survived by his son, Joey W. (Faron) 
2Bomkamp; his daughters, Kristy L. Joiner and Brooke Hunt; his 
3grandchildren, Kaden and Delany Gray and Henley Bomkamp; his 
4brother, Scott (Karen) Joiner; his sister, Lynette (Michael) 
5Jones; and his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Don Anthony "D.A." 
9Joiner; and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Don Joiner as an expression of our 
12sympathy.
