| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Jim Hansen, South Elgin Village |
| 4 | | President, who passed away on November 1, 2013; and
|
| 5 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hansen was born on July 29, 1960 in Elgin to |
| 6 | | James and Maxine (nee Murphy) Hansen; he married Teri Spencer |
| 7 | | in 1981; and
|
| 8 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hansen was first elected to the village board |
| 9 | | in 1991, and was elected Village President in 2001; he oversaw |
| 10 | | South Elgin's westward expansion while keeping the "hometown |
| 11 | | feel"; he was instrumental in the development of Concord Park |
| 12 | | and its baseball fields; he also worked as a manager at NAPA |
| 13 | | Auto Parts and in the purchasing department for Kane County; |
| 14 | | and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hansen always believed his biggest job was to |
| 16 | | be a consensus-builder; and
|
| 17 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hansen was preceded in death by his father, |
| 18 | | James; his father-in-law, Eugene Spencer; and his faithful |
| 19 | | companion, "Archie"; and
|
| 20 | | WHEREAS, Jim Hansen is survived by his wife, Teri; his |
