SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Bette B. Novak of Arlington Heights, who 
4passed away on June 10, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Bette Novak was born on April 23, 1927, in Chicago 
6to Joseph and Marie (nee Simon) Burger; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Bette Novak worked as a substitute teacher for the 
8Chicago Public Schools; and
  
 
9    WHEREAS, Bette Novak was a member of Our Lady of the 
10Wayside Catholic Church in Arlington Heights; she loved to 
11spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Bette Novak was preceded in death by her parents; 
13and
  
 
14    WHEREAS, Bette Novak is survived by her husband of 66 
15years, Daniel; her children, Mark D. (Patty) Novak, Katie 
16(Steve) Lescohier, Mike J. (Alice) Novak, Eric "Rick" W. 
17(Susanne) Novak, and Dan (Carol) Novak; her grandchildren, 
18Emily, Mark, Andrew, Matthew, Joseph, Michael, Erik, Sarah, 
19Karl, Jimmy, John, and Haley; her great-grandson, Samuel; and 
20her sister, Lucille Moore; therefore, be it

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Bette B. Novak, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Bette Novak as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
