SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Janice Arleen Cates, who passed away on 
4September 12, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Janice Cates was born on March 2, 1938 in 
6Jerseyville; her parents were Donald and Dorothy Stewart 
7Shenberger; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Janice Cates was a member of Grace Baptist Church 
9in Springfield; she enjoyed reading, bird watching, and 
10spending time with her grandchildren; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Janice Cates was preceded in death by her husband, 
12Leroy W. Cates, and her 2 sisters; and

  
 
13    WHEREAS, Janice Cates is survived by her son, Jon Cates; 
14her daughters, Janna (George D.) Kamees and Lee Ann (Scott) 
15Davis; her grandchildren, Andrew and Jesse Kamees and Caroline 
16and Thomas Davis; her brothers, William (Donna) Shenberger and 
17Patrick Shenberger; her sisters, Donna Phillip, Dorothy 
18(Chris) Wendle, Penny (John) Tedrick, and Suzanne (Craig) 
19Holmes; and her many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
20    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL

1ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her 
2family and friends, mourn the passing of Janice Arleen Cates; 
3and be it further

5presented to the family of Janice Cates as an expression of our 
6sympathy.
