SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Clare R. Zimmerman of Gurnee, who passed 
4away on September 27, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Clare Zimmerman was born on June 13, 1920 in 
6Waukegan; his parents were Clarence and Vera (nee Metcalf) 
7Zimmerman; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Clare Zimmerman served his country as a member of 
9the United States Marine Corps; he later worked for the Federal 
10Bureau of Investigation; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Clare Zimmerman graduated from the University of 
12Illinois in 1950; he later served as a teacher and coach at 
13Warren Township High School; he also worked for the Equitable 
14Life Assurance Company, where he retired after 31 years of 
15service; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Clare Zimmerman served as president of the Gurnee 
17Grade School Board and past president of the Lake County Lung 
18Association; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Clare Zimmerman was the beloved husband of the 
20late Phyllis (nee White) and the late Helen Cuilla; the loving

1father of Linda D. (Regan) McNabb, Joanne M. (Kenneth) Hawkins, 
2and Ronald R. Zimmerman; the cherished grandfather of Brock, 
3Ryan, Erin, Carrie, David, Michelle, and Christopher; the 
4great-grandfather of 11; and the dear brother of the late 
5Kenneth Zimmerman; therefore, be it
  
 
6    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
7ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his 
8family and friends, mourn the passing of Clare R. Zimmerman; 
9and be it further
  
 
10    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
11presented to the family of Clare Zimmerman as an expression of 
12our sympathy.
