| 2 | | WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to |
| 3 | | learn of the death of Thomas N. Rockey; and
|
| 4 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Rockey attended Parker High School, where |
| 5 | | he played football; and
|
| 6 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Rockey joined the United States Air Force |
| 7 | | on July 7, 1952 and was sent to Lackland Air Force Base in San |
| 8 | | Antonio, Texas for basic training; he was then sent to Sheppard |
| 9 | | Air Force Base in Wichita County, Texas and eventually ended up |
| 10 | | at Nellis Air Force in Southern Nevada, where he was a member |
| 11 | | of the Thunderbird Squadron until 1956; he returned to Chicago |
| 12 | | after being discharged from the Air Force; and
|
| 13 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Rocky enjoyed traveling to visit family and |
| 14 | | friends and reminiscing about his days in the Air Force; and
|
| 15 | | WHEREAS, Thomas Rockey was the beloved husband of Janice |
| 16 | | (nee McElroy) Rockey; the loving father of Lynn (Alfred) |
| 17 | | Molenhouse, Karen (Michael) Mazurek, and Steven (Beth) Rockey; |
| 18 | | the cherished grandfather of Jeffrey, Michelle, Kelly, Kevin, |
| 19 | | Kendall, Kara, Matthew, Mary, and Emily; and dear |
| 20 | | brother-in-law of Robert (Geraldine) McElroy and Willard |
| 21 | | (Marcy) McElroy; therefore, be it
