SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Susan Denise Baird of Chatham, who passed away on August 27, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Susan Baird was born on July 22, 2003; her parents were William Trevor Baird and Jennifer Ketchum Baird; and

WHEREAS, Susan Baird was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Chatham; and

WHEREAS, Susan Baird enjoyed dancing ever since she was a little girl; she was a member of Jan's Dance Studio in Chatham, where she participated in several disciplines; as a natural tip-toed walker, dancing came naturally to Susan; she also enjoyed playing sports and drawing; Susan aspired to become a dress designer one day; and

WHEREAS, Susan Baird was preceded in death by her grandfather, Robert G. Bowen, and her great-grandmother, Patricia E. Kilby; and

WHEREAS, Susan Baird is survived by her father, William Trevor Baird; her mother, Jennifer Ketchum Baird (companion, Ken Duffy); her brother, William Baird; her grandparents, Terry and Marla Baird and Frank and Susan Kilby; her great-grandparents, William and Roma Baird, Kenneth Hudson, and Frank Kilby Sr.; her aunt, Melissa Bowen; her uncle, Jason Bowen; her godparents, Kyle Hudson and Kimberly Jacobs Harmony; and her many great-aunts, great-uncles, and cousins; and

WHEREAS, Susan Baird will be remembered fondly by her family, friends, and the countless others whose lives she touched for her great inner strength, her loving and funny nature, and her ability to provide comfort and resolve to everyone she met throughout her life; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with her family and friends, mourn the passing of Susan Denise Baird; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Susan Baird as an expression of our sympathy.
