SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Lanny H. Darr of Godfrey, who passed away 
4on August 1, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Lanny Darr was born on January 6, 1941 in Alton; 
6his parents were Howard and Stella (Rain) Darr; he married the 
7former Brenda Hale on September 28, 1963 in Bethalto; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Lanny Darr retired as the Director of Emergency 
9and Disaster for Madison County in 1993 after many ears of 
10service; he was also elected as the first auditor of the 
11Village of Godfrey and served on the Village's original board 
12of trustees from 1973 until 1977; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Lanny Darr was a member of Resurrection Lutheran 
14Church and the Alton-Wood River Sportsman's Club; and

  
 
15    WHEREAS, Lanny Darr is survived by his wife, Brenda; his 
16sons, Lanny Darr II, Matt (Martha) Darr, Joe (Rebecca) Darr, 
17Brad (Tammy) Darr, and Bob (Khamphanh "Tic") Darr; and his 8 
18grandchildren; therefore, be it
  
 
19    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
20ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his

1family and friends, mourn the passing of Lanny H. Darr; and be 
2it further
  
 
3    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
4presented to the family of Lanny Darr as an expression of our 
5sympathy.
