SENATE RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to learn of the death of Frohman "Buddy" Wool, M.D., who passed away on August 3, 2013; and

WHEREAS, Frohman Wool was born on August 13, 1920; he was raised in St. Louis, Missouri; and

WHEREAS, Frohman Wool attended St. Louis University for his undergraduate studies and for medical school; after graduation, he served as a captain in the United States Army and was stationed in Little Rock, Arkansas; while in Little Rock, he met the love of his life, Millie, whom he married on January 3, 1948; and

WHEREAS, Shortly after getting married, Frohman Wool and his wife moved to Waukegan, where he began practicing medicine; over his 45-year career, he developed a sterling reputation as a "true family physician"; as an attending physician at Victory Memorial Hospital and St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan, he delivered babies and performed surgeries; following his retirement, he continued his passion for medicine as an instructor at Chicago Medical School in North Chicago; and

WHEREAS, Frohman Wool was elected to the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society by the students he taught for his work in medicine and medical education; and

WHEREAS, Frohman Wool was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred, and his daughter-in-law, Cindy Wool; and

WHEREAS, Frohman Wool is survived by his children, Dr. Norman (Ruth) Wool, Karla Wool Bukstein, Dr. Steven Wool, and Gary (Lauren) Wool; and his 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren; therefore, be it

RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we, along with his family and friends, mourn the passing of Frohman "Buddy" Wool, M.D.; and be it further

RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frohman Wool as an expression of our sympathy.
