SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Peter N. Kanel of Waukegan, who passed 
4away on June 21, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Peter Kanel was born on May 29, 1934, in Evanston 
6to Nicholas and Peggy (nee Proferis) Kanel and was a lifelong 
7area resident; he served in the United States Marine Corps; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Peter Kanel worked for Amco Tools and Johnson 
9Motors; for the last 14 years, he worked at Six Flags Great 
10America in Gurnee; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Peter Kanel was a member of St. Demetrios Greek 
12Orthodox Church in Waukegan; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Peter Kanel was preceded in death by his parents; 
14and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Peter Kanel is survived by his sister, Mary 
16Katris; his son, Nick (Coree) Kanel; his daughters, Mary and 
17Patty Kanel; his nephews, George Katris and Peter (Mary) 
18Katris; and by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren;

1    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
2ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
3Peter N. Kanel, and extend our sincere condolences to his 
4family, friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it 
5further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Peter Kanel as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
