SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Clara Eileen (nee Bruening) Kirkwood of 
4Bunker Hill, who passed away on May 21, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Clara Kirkwood was born on December 6, 1923; she 
6married William Kirkwood on December 21, 1945; and
  
 
7    WHEREAS, Clara Kirkwood worked at the Olin during the war; 
8after the war she became a homemaker and raised her children; 
9she was always helping in any way should could and helped 
10raiser her grandchildren while their parents worked; and
  
 
11    WHEREAS, Clara Kirkwood enjoyed going to see her 
12grandchildren participate in sports; she was an avid Saint 
13Louis Cardinals fan; she never missed a game on tv and got to 
14visit the new stadium during the Cardinals' championship season 
15of 2011; and
  
 
16    WHEREAS, Clara Kirkwood was preceded in death by her 
17husband; and
  
 
18    WHEREAS, Clara Kirkwood is survived by her daughters, Vicki 
19Sehlmeyer, Billie Bauer, and Patricia Bushrow; her 7 
20grandchildren; and her 13 great-grandchildren; therefore, be

2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Clara Kirkwood, and extend our sincere condolences to her 
5family, friends, and all who knew and loved her; and be it 
6further
  
 
7    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
8presented to the family of Clara Kirkwood as an expression of 
9our deepest sympathy.
