SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of Timothy "Tim"  West, longtime editor of 
4The Naperville Sun, who passed away on May 14, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Tim West was born on September 17, 1946, in 
6Cleveland, Ohio, to Maurice and Rosemary West; he received his 
7bachelors degree from Hiram College and his masters degree in 
8British History from the University of Cincinnati; he moved 
9with his family to Naperville in 1968; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Tim West joined The Naperville Sun in 1973 and 
11never left; he served as editor, reporter, and columnist during 
12his time working there; his column "All Points West" first 
13appeared on July 24, 1973; his 40th anniversary with The 
14Naperville Sun would have been in June 2013; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Tim West enjoyed traveling, reading, photography, 
16and the Rolling Stones; and
  
 
17    WHEREAS, Tim West was preceded in death by his parents and 
18his father-in-law, Robert Fritsch; and
  
 
19    WHEREAS, Tim West is survived by his wife, Kathy; his 
20sister, Sue; and numerous sisters-in-law,  brothers-in-law,

1nieces, and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the passing of 
4Tim West, and extend our sincere condolences to his family, 
5friends, and all who knew and loved him; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Tim West as an expression of our 
8deepest sympathy.
