SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Consuelo G. "Connie" Raya of Alton, who 
4passed away on May 1, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Consuelo Raya was born in Dodge City, Kansas; her 
6parents were Lee and Ruth Gonzalez; she married Mike J. Raya on 
7January 2, 1949, in Hutchinson, Kansas; and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Consuelo Raya was employed as a presser for Temple 
9Cleaners for over 20 years; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Consuelo Raya was a member of St. Mary's Catholic 
11Church in Alton; her greatest joy was spending time with her 
12family; and
  
 
13    WHEREAS, Consuelo Raya was preceded in death by her son, 
14Joe Lewis; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Consuelo Raya is survived by her husband, Mike; 
16her children, Adelita "Adele" and her spouse, Steve Lakin, 
17Diana Stroder, Mannie Jr. and his spouse, Barb Raya, and Jesse 
18Raya; her grandchildren, Raquel Kronke, Tony Raya, Henry 
19Mendoza, Della Stroder, Lana Stroder, and Grace Mitchell; her 
2011 great-grandchildren; her 4 sisters; her 3 brothers; and her

1many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
2    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
3ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
4her family and friends, the passing of Consuelo G. "Connie" 
5Raya; and be it further
  
 
6    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
7presented to the family of Consuelo Raya as an expression of 
8our sympathy.
