SENATE RESOLUTION

  
 
2    WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened to 
3learn of the death of  Charles E. McCarthy of Bethalto, who 
4passed away on May 3, 2013; and
  
 
5    WHEREAS, Charles McCarthy was born on August 16, 1929, in 
6Hettick; his parents were Joseph Thomas and Emma Jane McCarthy; 
7and
  
 
8    WHEREAS, Charles McCarthy served his country in the United 
9States Army as a corporal during the Korean Conflict; and
  
 
10    WHEREAS, Charles McCarthy was the owner/operator of 
11McCarthy Plumbing and Heating in Bethalto for 20 years; and
  
 
12    WHEREAS, Charles McCarthy was a member of the Hettick High 
13School class of 1948 and the Cottage Hills VFW Post #7678, 
14where he held several offices; and
  
 
15    WHEREAS, Charles McCarthy is survived by his children and 
16their spouses, Deborah Panapinto and Mike Brooks, Cathy and 
17Robin Mahan, Theresa and David Taylor, and Stephen McCarthy; 
18his grandchildren and their spouses, Dawn and Brian Herrin, 
19Sarah and Brian Sitze, Joshua Taylor, Savanah Riggs, Samantha 
20Taylor, Julieanna McCarthy, and Colynn Mahan; his 8

1great-grandchildren; his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and 
2Albert Schwab; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Anna 
3McCarthy, C. Thomas McCarthy, and John and Jan McCarthy; and 
4his many nieces and nephews; therefore, be it
  
 
5    RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-EIGHTH GENERAL 
6ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with 
7his family and friends, the passing of Charles E. McCarthy; and 
8be it further
  
 
9    RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be 
10presented to the family of Charles McCarthy as an expression of 
11our sympathy.
